You can mix your own fuel.
One that I experimented with was 1/3 gasoline 1/3automotive diesel and 1/3 castor oil.
There is no ether involved in that mix but it easier to start if you have some diesel starter spray on hand.

I was thinking about mixing my own. I know I have kerosene at the house. Will medicinal castor work? And where can I get ether?

If it says USP then yes it will.
It should work anyway also you can use mole a gopher repellant a that is good castor oil.
Ether is a hard one as some use it to make Meth.
Buy John Deere starter spray or fluid and use that it is 80% ether and the other 20% can be treated like kerosene.
Mix these three substances in thirds to make a decent fuel.
Then you have a base and you can experiment from there

Not really in the US because they have a problem with Meth and ether is a key ingridient in making it.

Like nitro said, make sure it says 100% USP with NO added sugar.

And if not USP make sure it is also as high quality as possible and de-gummed.

Ok. I will get John Deere starting fluid. Now what should I look for on the label. Someone said it needed to be de gummed and when ever I mix it up since it is 20% additive do I just add 20% to my kerosene count? Thanks

Yep add the 20% to the Kero count.
Your castor oil must be de-gummed.

For homemade diesel fuel needs:

1)White Light diesel or kerosene¨40%
2)Ether pharmaceutical 40%
3)Castor oil 20%

Attention:
1)Do not use diesel oil for car traffic.
2)Do not use diesel oil for heating boilers.
Both are unsuitable reason paraffin.
3)Do not breathe the ether in a long time because goodnight - good sleep - dream of many.
Here a little humor but a reality.

Very good a dvice there Elijah
However you can use high quality autonomy or aeromotive diesel or a hood purified biodiesel as a kerosene substitute.
